Netballers around the country are being encouraged to nominate mothers in their community who are dedicated to netball for a chance to win an once-in-a-lifetime experience at the 2012 ANZ Championship Grand Final plus a host of other great prizes.

While mothers are celebrated once a year, it’s what they do on the other 364 days of the year with their hard work to support their family and nurture the sport of netball that Telstra want to recognise.

Telstra NetMum ambassador and former Australian Diamonds captain Liz Ellis, a new mother herself to seven-month old daughter Evelyn, has paid tribute to the influence her own mum had on her international career.

“Mum would rise at the crack of dawn on cold mornings, transport me to representative carnivals armed with nutritious home cooked food, the fuel that got me through the day and throughout my junior career,” Ellis said.

“I’ll be looking for a mum who is dedicated to her family, her club and her sport – someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty to help Netball be the great sport it is.”

Finalists will be chosen from every State and Territory with the ultimate Telstra NetMum to receive a VIP experience at the 2012 ANZ Championship Grand Final, which includes return flights and accommodation, a day spa pamper pack and a chance to meet Liz Ellis and players from the Grand Final teams.

Finalists will receive a $500 shopping spree, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 4G plus signed Netball merchandise.

Win tickets to the 2012 Holden Netball Test Series

Along with Telstra’s NetMum competition, don’t forget to enter the San Remo NetSetGO! design a friend for Diamond Girl competition for your chance to win a family pass to the 2012 Holden Netball Test Series.

San Remo NetSetGO participants, aged between 5-10 years old, are being encouraged to get creative and draw a new friend for Diamond Girl with the winner to receive either a visit from an Australian Diamond, tickets to the 2012 Holden Netball Test Series or equipment kits.

Three years after Diamond Girl was introduced following the launch of the Diamonds brand in 2008, Netball Australia is seeking some new friends to represent the evolving Australian netball community.
