Game Report: The Australian Institute of Sport has come off the court victorious against opponents the Tasmania Spirit, with a 65-30 goal win as the Australian Netball League competition draws closer to end of rounds. Opening with skill and enthusiasm, the AIS team were dominant in all aspects of the first quarter notching up an 18-7 goal lead and setting the tone for the rest of the match. AIS goal shooter Simone Nalder was a focal point up forward for the team, presenting well both inside and outside of the circle. Along with Kellyann Grayson at goal attack, the duo combined well shooting at 84% for the match. Strong work in defence by April Letton and Kate Shimmin saw a lot of turnovers in the first half, and this continued on in the second half when bench players were rotated onto the court. No player missed a beat and kept the AIS score line a healthy 30 goal advantage for most of the game. Shannon Eagland had a great game in wing defence for the AIS, while the Tassie Spirit tried to lift their intensity in the last quarter with the injection of fresh legs, the AIS simply controlled too much of the ball and never gave them a chance to work back into the game.
