Comments: A rising talent of the Australian Diamonds, Laura Geitz continues to develop as a player in defence after making her international debut in 2008. Extremely agile with a good rebound and the ability to read the play, Geitz was selected for her first Commonwealth Games team in 2010 and has excelled in 2011, winning the media award for best player in the 2011 ANZ Championship, where she took up the on-court leadership role after captain Lauren Nourse went down with an injury. Continuing to grow in stature and experience, Geitz is an exciting prospect for the future of Australian netball.
