Game Report: AT the start, the game between South Australia and Northern Territory was close with each team going goal for goal for much of the first quarter. With seven goals apiece moving into the second quarter, both teams brought everything they’ve got to the game to try and take the lead. Strong defence across the court from SA, forced a number of turnovers from the NT side and the South Australians took the lead ending the first half ahead 15-10. Going into the second half the South Australians had found their momentum quickly stretching the lead to 12. Defenders Kailah Greenwell, Maddy Turner and Stephanie Drogumuller at wing defence forced a number of key turnovers which really saw the game change for the South Australians. But this did not stop the tenacity of the NT side who continued to search for opportunities, but it was not enough with the third quarter ending 28-14. Coming into the fourth, it was clear the Northern Territory team was not giving up, with a renewed team on court determined to make it hard for the South Australians. The final quarter was similar to the first with each of the teams going goal for goal. But SA’s strong lead gained through the middle two quarters had them too far ahead for NT, with the game ending 36-21.
