Game Report:
Tasmania recorded their first win of the 2012 19/U Nationals in front of a big home crowd at the Silverdome on Saturday night, downing the Australian Capital Territory 35-23.

Both teams’ were winless heading into the round four fixture in Launceston, and it was Tasmania that came out strongly from the start. They burst ahead to a 10-4 quarter time lead thanks to six consecutive goals during the term, and extended that further to a 19-6 margin at halftime with plenty of vocal support coming from the packed grandstand.

While the ACT fought hard in the second half and actually outscored Tasmania 17 to 16 with new goal pairing Phoebe Foldi and Renae Marshall in the circle, the hosts strong first half proved the difference as Tasmania won by 12. Tasmania shooter Sophie Gunn made an impact in her last quarter at goal shooter, claiming seven goals from seven attempts to keep the ACT at bay.
